Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most — answered without hedging.

If your question is not here, ask it directly. We will give you a straight answer, including when the answer is that we are not the right people for the job.

No, and we are careful about this. GBN is a business services and digital enablement company. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions or representation. Legal work — including registration filings, contract advice, trademark clearance and anything requiring a licensed practitioner — is executed by law firms and licensed offices in our partner network, under formal memoranda of understanding. What GBN provides is the strategy, the coordination, the documentation, the identity, the digital presence and the accountability for the overall result.

For a standard commercial activity, our typical end-to-end timeline is 21 to 30 days from the first session to full handover. Discovery takes one to two days, naming and screening three to five, registration eight to fifteen, and identity, website and documents are built in parallel rather than in sequence.

Two things move that timeline: regulated activities requiring additional permits, and government processing times, which are set by the authorities and not by us. Your Launch Brief states the timeline we commit to for your specific case, and we tell you in advance where the risk of delay sits.

No. Government and authority fees — commercial registration, licences, chamber membership, trademark filing fees and similar — are excluded from every package price. They are charged at cost, itemised separately on your invoice, and never marked up.

We do this because government fees vary considerably by activity, legal form and capital, and any package price that claimed to include them would either be inflated for most clients or misleading for the rest. Your Launch Brief sets out the expected government cost for your specific case before you commit to anything.

For a wide and expanding range of activities, yes. Reforms in recent years have removed the requirement for a local partner across most commercial and industrial sectors, and the Invest Easy portal now supports incorporation for fully foreign-owned entities.

However, the list of activities is set by the competent authorities, certain sectors remain restricted or conditional, and the position changes. We will not give you a general answer and let you act on it. We confirm the position for your specific activity with our legal partners, in writing, before you commit capital.

This is exactly what the Four‑Lock Name Check is designed to prevent, and it is why we screen against the register, the domain system, platform handles and a check for conflicting marks before anything is filed.

If a name we have cleared through all four locks is nevertheless rejected, our Name Integrity Assurance applies: we run the entire naming and screening process again, produce a fresh shortlist, and re-secure the corresponding digital assets — at no additional cost to you. Third-party costs already incurred, such as a domain already purchased, cannot be refunded, and we will always tell you before we buy anything.

You do, from the beginning. Domains are registered in the client's name, not ours. Social accounts are created under the client's control. Design working files, source artwork, print-ready production files and all credentials are transferred to you at handover in a documented credential vault.

GBN retains no leverage over your assets. If you decide after handover that you would rather work with someone else, everything you need is already yours and nothing has to be negotiated.

We manage the pathway; licensed partners execute the filings. In practice that means GBN prepares the file, confirms the activity classification and structure, coordinates the documents, submits through our licensed partner, tracks progress and reports to you weekly — while the regulated act of filing and any legal opinion sits with the licensed professional.

From your side it is one process with one point of contact. From a compliance side, every regulated step is performed by someone entitled to perform it.

Frequently, yes — and this is a growing part of our work. Established SMEs come to us when the business has outgrown its original identity, when the digital presence was built years ago by someone unreachable, when they have discovered they do not control their own domain, or when they are preparing for investment, a bank facility or a partnership and need the company to present properly.

In those cases we usually start with a short audit rather than a package, and recommend only the pillars you actually need.

Yes. The four pillars are designed to work together, and the value compounds when they do, but each can be taken independently and every add-on service is available on its own. If you already have a registered company and a website but need a proper bilingual identity, that is a perfectly sensible engagement.

What we will not do is sell you a package that contains things you do not need in order to reach a headline number.

The Knowledge Bank is a bilingual executive library. Each title is produced in three layers: a Condensed Executive Edition of 10 to 15 pages, an original Executive Critical Reading that stress-tests the argument, and a Regional Application Guide explaining how the idea behaves under Gulf and Omani conditions. Every edition is published in Arabic and English and is designed to be read in about forty-five minutes.

Twelve months of Startup Track access is included with the Integrated package. C‑Suite Track access for five executives is included with Market Entry. Both tracks, and organisational licences, are also available separately to anyone — you do not need to be a launch client.

Yes, as standard and at no additional cost. Every engagement is delivered in Arabic and English: naming, identity, website, documents, templates and the Knowledge Bank.

Arabic is designed rather than translated. An Arabic logo lockup is drawn as its own expression of the brand rather than the Latin mark with Arabic text placed underneath, and Arabic web typography is set properly rather than left to a browser default. In this market the Arabic version is usually the one your customer sees first, and it should not be the weaker one.

For standard packages, 50% to commence and 50% on handover. Market Entry engagements are staged against defined milestones. Government fees are payable at cost when they fall due.

The total price is fixed in your Launch Brief before any work begins. If the scope changes, we re-quote in writing and you approve it before we proceed. There are no variable hourly charges and no surprise invoices.

Yes. We serve all governorates of the Sultanate. Most of the process works well remotely — discovery sessions, naming reviews and design approvals are routinely handled by video and shared documents — and we travel for engagements where meeting in person genuinely matters.

We also accept GCC engagements where a licensed partner pathway exists in the relevant market.

Legal advice and legal opinions. Audit, accounting and tax services. Government and authority fees. Guaranteed government outcomes — name approval, licensing and trademark grants are decisions of the competent authorities. Guaranteed commercial outcomes such as search rankings, follower counts or revenue.

We state these boundaries plainly because a misunderstanding at this stage is far more expensive than a lost sale.

Every engagement is covered by mutual confidentiality from the first conversation, including the free diagnostic call and including cases where you decide not to proceed. Business ideas, financial information, ownership structures and candidate names are treated as confidential by default.

Candidate names are particularly sensitive — a name discussed publicly before it is secured can be registered by someone else within hours. We secure digital assets in the same window in which we recommend a name, precisely for that reason.

Still have a question?

Call or message +968 9141 2315, or email hello@gbnplanet.com. We answer questions from people who have not become clients and may never become clients, because that is how a market gets built.

Every question here came from a founder's desk.

Ready when you are.

A short diagnostic conversation will tell you what your launch really requires, what it will cost including government fees, and how long it will take.
